My name is Lia. I am a born-again Christian and this is the work I was given to do.

For years I carried one dream: to make the most beautiful illustrated Bible ever printed. Not a collector's curiosity. A companion for reading, for giving, for keeping. The kind of book that gets passed down.

I believe Scripture deserves to be met with beauty. The Word that created the universe should not live in a flimsy paperback. Each illustration was composed from a precise theological description of its passage. The text studied first, the image second. The visual language draws from Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and Vermeer: deep shadow, restrained sacred light, nothing added that the text does not require. Not decoration. Illumination.

The four Gospels are now complete — as single volumes and as one collected edition. Eight hundred and fifty plates carry the whole life of Christ. The rest of the Bible is coming, one book at a time, until the last page of Revelation is bound.

Ich glaube, der Heiligen Schrift gebührt Schönheit. Jede Illustration wurde aus einer präzisen theologischen Beschreibung entwickelt. Zuerst der Text, dann das Bild. Die Bildsprache schöpft aus Caravaggio, Rembrandt und Vermeer: tiefer Schatten, verhaltenes heiliges Licht, nichts was der Text nicht verlangt. Keine Dekoration. Erleuchtung.

Die vier Evangelien sind nun vollendet — als einzelne Bände und als Gesamtausgabe. Achthundertfünfzig Tafeln tragen das ganze Leben Christi. Der Rest der Bibel folgt, Buch für Buch, bis zur letzten Seite der Offenbarung.
